CyanoCapture cultivates CC15.10 continuously at 3400L
"CyanoCapture recently completed a project with LGEM, an Algae photobioreactor manufacturer and industry expert located in the Netherlands, to characterise our lead candidate strain CC15.10 as a biomanufacturing chassis. The strain achieved an unprecedented volumetric productivity of 2.2 g per litre per day in their indoor artificially lit lab bioreactor, and was then scaled up to 2200L in the LGEM PILOT-3450 where it was successfully grown and harvested over a period of 5 weeks. CyanoCapture’s gene editing capability now allows a wide range of high value recombinant proteins to be inserted and produced by this strain, opening the door to large scale photoautotrophic biomanufacturing, alongside sequestration of the resultant waste biomass, resulting in a carbon-negative route to making the biological products the world needs whilst simultaneously tackling climate change.
